Leaders To Nowhere

In a Company Leader is the head of the Team Member.  Team member Work from the Leaders instructions.  The following are the Team Leader Thoughts.

• The aim of these articles is to point out how the human machine can be made to function more effectively; to try to show how a man may climb out of the rut and do something worth while in the world.


• When, however, a machine is keyed up to produce more and more power, it is necessary to have a clear idea to what the extra power is to be applied.


• Power without purpose is simply a senseless waste of energy.


• There are too many men who want to lead, prizing leadership for its own sake, confusing the means with the end, worshipping Power without having the imagination to vision an ultimate end for that power.


• They are leaders to nowhere, unless it be to disaster.
  
  
  


• “Once or twice in every generation,” said a recent writer, “there lives a man who attempts a small task in a corner: and perceiving it clearly in its relative importance to the rest of existence, puts his nose to the grindstone-with his eyes open to the horizon and does the thing.”


• We all have our noses to the grindstone : We have not always our eyes “open to the horizon” at the same time.  That is why so much of our effort ends in futility.
 

• No man should ever divorce imagination from his work.  He should endeavor to see life clearly, and see it whole, and should fit his efforts into a scheme that has a very definite end in view.


• That is the real meaning of ambition.


• And if your small task-even though it be done in a corner-leads somewhere, keep your nose to the grindstone.


• The danger lies in seeing no further than the grindstone.  There is a wider horizon than that.
