From a humble beginning with 100 students in the medical stream in 1990,the University today has over 5000 students across 270 multi-disciplinary programs covering

DMIHER is a multidisciplinary University situated in Rural backdrop of central India at Sawangi (M), Wardha. 

It has an off-campus Centre - Datta Meghe Medical College.

• DMIHR (formerly known as DMIMS) has been granted the status of Deemed to be University by UGC on 24^th May, 2005.


• Conferred ‘A’ Grade status by the Ministry of HRD, COI amongst the Deemed Universities in the Country on May 2013.
• Subsequently, placed in Category-1 Deemed to be University as per the University Grants Commission (Categorization of Universities only) for grant of graded autonomy regulations 2018. 
• Undergone three cycles on NAAC reaccreditations, with the highest grade in all cycles.
• In its 5^th Cycle of participating, the University is ranked at 92^nd Position in ‘Overall category’ 54^th Position in the ‘University category’, aged in Medical and 11^th amongst Dental colleges in NIRG Rankings 2022.
